Darts! A Man Cave Must!

Darts!  You do not need that much space and you won’t go broke getting a really nice set.  When you hang the board, the center of the bullseye should be 5 feet 8 inches off the ground.  You will need to mark or tape a line on the floor exactly 7 feet 9 ¼ inches away.  Make sure to keep anything you don’t want damaged away from the board.  Even the best dart throwers miss the board when alcohol is involved.

Now, this post isn’t about the details and history of darts.  If you want that information go to wikipedia.com.

There are many different darts and boards for sale.  I suggest you stick to brass darts and wood / sisal boards.  No electric darts in this post.  I may talk about those another time, but I much prefer the real thing.

If you want something great without breaking your wallet get the Winmau Blade 4 Bristle Dartboard.  These are high quality without staples, which means less bounce backs and broken darts.  This will be a valuable investment for your man cave; I highly recommend it.  You will also need to purchase the darts.  I like to have a bunch of darts for casual play and one set for serious matches.

These are a solid set of 15 darts that won’t break your wallet. Wolftop 15 Pack Steel Tip Darts. These are good enough to have fun with and it won’t be the end of the world if your kid accidentally breaks a shaft.

Now, if you need to pull out the special weapon, get the Ignat Games Professional Darts.  It’s for when things get serious.

There are a lot of other options and this is not an extensive review of the best of the best.  I know some of you out there do not want to spend a $100 bucks on a set of darts and a board.

If you want to save as much money as possible and still want something decent, you can get the darts with a decent board by purchasing the Wuudi Dart Board, Double-sided Flocking Dartboard with 6 Brass Darts(18 inches).  Now these will have some staples and a higher chance of bounce back and broken darts; but for that price at that quality, it’s a great deal.

If you like the Winmau Blade 4 but want to spend a little more for the newer version, the Winmau Blade 5 Dual Core Bristle Dartboard is also available.

No matter what you decide, you now have a solid reference point on what type of darts and board to buy.  Hope this was helpful!

Cheers!
